Visit Poros Village & Tzanata’s Mycenaean Tomb
The beautiful coastline journey will then take us to Poros. Green slopes, small canyons, artificial lakes imposing cliffs are the main features of the scenery while we are heading to Tzanata village. Here we will visit a recently discovered archaeological site, the Mycenaean tomb. It is an arched tomb, unique in western Greece because of the good condition it has remained. According to the golden findings it is believed that it is the tomb of rich noblemen of the time. However, there are speculations that it could be Ulysses tomb as in the past, Kefalonia and Ithaki might be united and separated later by an earthquake.
Remezzo Café
Sit at the beautiful cliffside café “Remezzo” at the port area, which is situated in natural rocks. You can have a drink sitting under the rocks, on a deck right at the seafront that gives you the sense you are on a ship deck.
Old Skala Village
Old Skala village lies at the top of a small hill where the pre-earthquake Skala was built. The village was completely damaged in the strong earthquake in 1953 and was rebuilt at the seafront, where modern Skala is located. Today you can see the ruins of the stone houses in a blue green landscape. The view from Old Skala extends to the mainland and to Zakinthos island.
Modern Skala Village
From here, the private tour goes on, taking us downhill to modern Skala village. Skala is one of the most popular tourist resorts on the island. It stands out for its natural beauty and unspoiled green landscape as well as crystalline waters and stunning coves. At Skala, we find one of the longest beaches in Kefalonia or perhaps anywhere in Greece.
In the main street of the village you can find plenty amenities, such as restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Skala is the busiest summer resort of the island, full of modern, luxury accommodations.
Lunch in Skala
At Skala, we will remain for approximately 2-3 hours, so that you can enjoy the beach, do water sports, go snorkeling and have lunch in traditional taverna.
Petrakopoulos Wine Tasting
