Lixouri
On the opposite of Argostoli, the vivid capital of Kefalonia, meet a different aspect of the island lifestyle and mentality, in Lixouri town. Lixouri town is much more restful and relaxing than Argostoli, yet equally charming and picturesque. The big square close to the port is a focal point of daily life and amusement, an ideal and safe place for families with young children. The humorous mood and the unique temperament of the locals is mirrored in the everyday life of the town, adding a quaint fascination in familiarizing with the area.
Haritatos Winery
In the heart of Kladata, on the outskirts of Lixouri, stands Haritatos Estate, offering guided tours, wine tastings, vineyard picnics and culinary experiences in a memorable scenery. Sample mouthwatering wines and learn more about winemaking in one of the oldest mansions on Kefalonia.
Lighthouse of Gerogompos
At a crossing after the village of Havriata, one may find a lighthouse of worldwide significance built in the early 20th century on an otherwise barren stretch of land. Located near Cape Gerogompos, this historical, well-designed lighthouse of international value. It was constructed in 1907 by British engineers and played an important role during the Second World War. It was destroyed by the German troops and was rebuilt in 1947. The altitude of the tower is 13 meters and it has 58-metre radius of light.
Petani Beach
A beach that equally competes Myrtos in beauty! Featuring white sand and deep blue waters, Petanoi is ideal for scuba diving and sea dips from the tall rocks. Do not forget to stay until sunset!
Optional Lunch Stop at Local Taverna
Experience the island’s rich culinary heritage like a true local with a lunch stop at a local taverna that will enrich and inspire every delicious moment.
